A 49-year-old woman was found dead in a wrecked vehicle off an Alabama highway.

Officials with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Ebony Lakesha White.

White was found dead Saturday morning in a Chevrolet Tahoe in the 600 block of Bankhead Highway In Birmingham.

Residents call 911 after seeing the Tahoe off the roadway.

Birmingham investigators were reportedly able to obtain video surveillance that showed the SUV wrecking shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

White was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:07 a.m.

Birmingham police are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the crash.
