Alabama Skies: Grab those coats and blankets! How far south will the freezing weather reach?

Monday is going to be a sunny day across the state, but don’t let it fool you! Between gusty breezes and cooler temperatures, it’s going to be cold for just about everyone. Even on the coast where highs will reach near 60, darkness will bring wintry-feeling temps overnight.

We’ll have freezing temperatures reaching all the way from northern Alabama to the I-10 corridor in southern Alabama. The only communities where we don’t expect temps to dip below freezing are the coastal towns and cities where the Gulf keeps everyone in the mid-30s.

Tuesday looks like it will be even colder!

North Alabama

Sunny and breezy with a high near 46. Wind gusts up to 15 miles per hour. Monday night, clear and breezy with a low of 28.

Central Alabama

Sunny and breezy with a high of 50. Becoming partly cloudy overnight with a breezy low of 31.

South Alabama

Sunny with a high of 52. Breezy. Becoming mostly cloudy Monday night with a low of 32.

Gulf Coast

Sunny and breezy with a high of 58. Mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 35.
