The man suspected of murdering an Alabama police evidence technician has been arrested, the local district attorney told a state TV station.

WSFA-TV reports the arrest of Cordel Dewayne Tyus, based on information from District Attorney Robert Turner.

Tyus is charged with capital murder in the death of Jamryon Hope, who worked as an evidence technician for the Selma Police Department.

Hope was found gunned down and lying in a street on Wednesday. Exactly what led to the shooting or if Tyus and Hope knew one another was not immediately clear.
