Alabama ambulance crew rescues man from burning house

An Alabama ambulance crew have been dubbed heroes Wednesday after they spotted an elderly man trying to exit a burning house and rushed to his aid, pulling the man to safety.

A Coosa County ambulance crew was at the intersection of Alabama 22 and U.S. 231 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when they spotted smoke pouring out of a residence.

As they got closer they spotted an elderly man inside the house trying to exist out a window.

Coosa EMS Personnel were able to open the front door and pull the resident to safety just as the home became fully engulfed, Coosa EMS reported in a social media post.

The call was made immediately for fire units to respond.

Rockford, Kellyton, Ray, Hanover, Equality and Stewartville volunteer firefighters responded along with and Coosa County EMA.

The homeowner was evaluated and released on scene by Coosa County EMS. Crews remained on scene extinguishing Hotspots for several hours and at 1 p.m. the fire was determined to be out.
