An Alabama man was arrested Monday and charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident after state troopers say he struck and killed a bicyclist last week.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit (THI) located and arrested Ryan J. Jolly, 36, of Harpersville, Alabama, on Monday evening.

He was charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident with death.

The arrest is a result of a single-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday, Nov. 9, at approximately 6:46 p.m., in Cullman County, when bicyclist Dakota R. Lamons, 19, of Hanceville, Alabama, was struck and fatally injured by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jolly, who left the scene.
