An Alabama woman was killed Monday in a head-on collision, state troopers reported.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of a Hayden, Alabama, woman.

Christina M. Bass, 45, of Hayden was fatally injured when the 2006 Pontiac Vibe that she was driving collided head-on with the 2014 Nissan Murano driven by Elaine Miller, 72, of Altoona.

Bass was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Miller and passenger Melissa Casey, 53, of Altoona were both transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 75, approximately 4 miles north of Oneonta, in Blount County.
