Police said a body found in the woods in a small Alabama town occurred days ago and was caused by a driver traveling so fast the vehicle wound up so deep in the woods that no one noticed the crash.

The crash occurred in Citronelle, Alabama, FOX-10 TV reported.

The accident apparently occurred several days prior to the discovery of the body Monday night.

The driver was reportedly traveling at a very high rate of speed, estimated to be more than 100 mph on Russell Road. No other drivers apparently saw the accident.

The driver’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of kin, police said.
