One dead, one injured after head-on collision, Alabama troopers say

An Alabama man was killed and another person injured Saturday when two vehicles collided, head-on, state troopers said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Headland man.

Brian S. Smalley, 58, was fatally injured when the 2017 Kia Soul he was driving collided head-on with the 2015 Ford Taurus driven by Mercedes N. Durr, 26, of Midland City.

Smalley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Durr was injured and transported to Southeast Health in Dothan for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on Henry County 65 near Henry County 176, approximately 12 miles east of Headland, in Henry County.
