An Alabama woman who had been reported missing earlier this week was found dead Friday and her alleged killer was arrested, sheriff’s officials said.

On Monday, Michelle Hough was reported missing through the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.

Her vehicle had been recovered on Carver Road in Seale, Alabama, burned on Sunday night

On Tuesday, Kenneth Lawhorn was arrested by Russell County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and charged with theft of property and arson in relation to this case.

On Thursday, Lawhorn’s charges were amended to capital murder.

Lawhorn is the owner of a body shop and reportedly Hough had been working with him to purchase a vehicle for her son. Investigators say they know she went to Lawhorn’s shop Sunday and surveillance footage showed Lawhorn towing her car away, just before it was found burned.
