A stretch of Alabama interstate became a crime scene Friday afternoon on a group of people spotted what they believed was a stolen car which led to a shootout wounding four people.

The incident happened at approximately 4:40 p.m. Friday on Interstate 59 near the Bush Boulevard exit in Birmingham.

All four people who were shot were males, Birmingham police said.

Two of the four reportedly had life-threatening injuries.

Police said one female was in custody and that all of the people shot are believed to have been involved in the shootout.
