An Alabama was killed Tuesday evening when his car struck a pickup truck, head-on, Alabama state troopers say.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Jasper, Alabama, man.

Mathew B. Geeslin, 26, was fatally injured when the 2004 Honda Accord that he was driving collided head-on with the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 driven by Phillip T. Dobbins, 56, also of Jasper.

Geeslin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Dobbins was injured and transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The crash occurred on Alabama 195 near the 7 mile marker, approximately 7 miles north of Jasper, in Walker County.
