The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Houston man.
Seth R. Urfer, 34, was critically injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche that he was driving left the roadway, struck a road sign, overturned, then struck another road sign and caught fire.
Prior to the Chevrolet catching fire, Urfer was ejected. He was transported to the Cullman Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries while being treated.
He was not using his seat belt at the time of crash. The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near Glover Road, approximately two miles west of Addison, in Winston County.
