Alabama man charged with shooting his wife to death, investigators say

An Alabama man has been charged with murdering his wife by shooting her to death, a county sheriff said.
At approximately 11:35 p.m., Wednesday, the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a shooting victim in the 1000 block of South Moody Crossroads in Rutledge, Alabama.
Deputies responded to the scene, where they discovered a white female inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.
Luverne Rescue arrived but pronounced the victim, identified as Elizabeth Holladay, a 59-year-old resident of Rutledge, deceased.
Deputies were able to quickly detain a possible suspect at the scene.
Criminal Investigators from the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office were immediately dispatched to process the scene and conduct interviews.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Mrs. Holladay’s Husband, Joe David Holladay, a 61-year-old resident of Rutledge, Alabama, was arrested and charged with murder.
Sheriff’s office investigators said they would not release details of the case until their investigation was completed.
