A teenage boy shot earlier this week died Thursday and police have arrested the 15-year-old girl they believe is the shooter.

The 16-year-old victim was shot on Tuesday morning on Carter Hill Road, Montgomery police said.

The teen died Thursday at a hospital.

Police arrested the suspected shooter, a 15-year-old girl. Neither the victim nor the suspect have been identified due to their ages, police said.

The girl was initially charged with two counts of attempted murder, but after the teen boy died, one of the charges was upgraded to capital murder.

Details on what led to the shooting were not immediately released.
