An Alabama woman was arrested after police allege she broke into a home and shot one of the residents inside.

Athens police say Natasha Lashinta Noble, 25, broke into a home in the 700 block of Brownsferry Street early Monday while a person inside was sleeping and began demanding money from the resident. The resident and Noble fought, police said, and the resident was shot during the fight.

The victim remained hospitalized Tuesday.

Noble was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree assault, police said.

She was being held with no bond set on Tuesday.
