A missing Alabama man was found dead Thursday night, police said. Two suspects have been charged with abuse of a corpse.

Braxton Connell, 35, of Tuscaloosa County, disappeared on the evening of Oct. 2.

Connell’s body was found in a wooded area on Highway 216. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the manner and cause of death.

Police said Friday they arrested two people, Ricky Duncan, 45, and Bettie Williams, 64, and charged them with abuse of a corpse.

Police said they believe illicit drugs are probably a factor in the case. Additional charges may be pending, police said.
