An Alabama man was killed Monday night after his SUV crashed and flipped over, ejecting him from the vehicle, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 8:04 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of a Cullman, Alabama, man.

Alexander L. Curington, 20, was fatally injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that he was driving traveled off the roadway, struck several trees, and overturned, state troopers said.

Curington was attempting to elude law enforcement when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. Curington was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 17-year-old juvenile passenger in the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 31, near the 292 mile marker, within the city limits of Morris, in Jefferson County.
