Alabama woman killed when her car hits tree and she was ejected, state troopers say

An Alabama woman was killed late Sunday when her car struck a tree and she was thrown from the vehicle, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday, and claimed the life of a Haleyville, Alabama, woman.

Charity B. Cordray, 42, was fatally injured when the 2000 Toyota Avalon that she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.

Cordray was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Winston County 11 near Littleville Road, approximately 2 miles east of Haleyville, in Winston County.
