An Alabama man was killed early Saturday when his truck veered off the road, struck a culvert and flipped over, ejecting the man, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:34 a.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Millport, Alabama, man.

Deric L. McGee, 28, was fatally injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.

McGee was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 96 near the 3 mile marker, approximately 2 miles west of Millport, in Lamar County.
