A missing Alabama man was found dead Wednesday, prompting an investigation into his death, officials with the Central Alabama CrimeStoppers reported.

The case began on October 9, when the Bullock County Sheriff’s Office requested public assistance locating a missing elderly person, Eddie Lee Thomas, 77 of Midway, Alabama, located in Bullock County.

Thomas was last seen in the afternoon on Saturday in Spring Hill, Alabama, located approximately 17.2 miles from Eufaula.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on October 11, 2023, and advised they located Thomas in the area of County Road 89 in Bullock County.

Investigators say Thomas was found to be deceased and the cause of death has not been determined at this time. Investigators say they will provide updates as more details become available.

The Thomas family and investigators are seeking answers and ask anyone with information to please come forward.
