An Alabama man was killed Wednesday when his vehicle veered off the road, struck a gas line and then a tree, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and claimed the life of a Muscle Shoals, Alabama, man.

Willie R. Agee Jr., 42, was fatally injured when the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox that he was driving left the roadway, struck a gas line and then a tree.

Agee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near the 46 mile marker, approximately three miles west of Courtland, in Lawrence County.
