An Alabama man was arrested Tuesday after police say a five-month investigation based on a tip determined that the man had child pornography in his possession.

Tyler Lay, 32, of Fairhope, was arrested on Tuesday for possession of child pornography.

The arrest follows a five-month investigation that began with a CyberTip received by the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children (NCEMC), which was then passed on to the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

The case was assigned to Fairhope Investigator Brittney Jackson, who joined the Task Force earlier this year.

“With this Task Force, we are not taking things lightly,” Jackson said. “The tips we receive are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted if evidence deems it.”

The ICAC Task Force provides local and federal resources to aid in investigations.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department helped investigators extract and analyze data from Lay’s phone.
