A manhunt was under way early Wednesday morning after an Alabama state prisoner escaped.

On Wednesday, the Alabama Department of Corrections requested assistance in locating Garrett Jeremy Marks.

Marks is described as a black male, age 46, 6’01” in height, weighing approximately 160 lbs. Marks is wanted for Escape.

Garrett Jeremy Marks was serving a 999-year prison sentence for Theft of Property 1st at the Loxley Detention Facility. While conducting the institutional count at approximately 5:50 AM, inmate Garrett Marks was not accounted for. Inmate Marks was last seen inside the Facility approximately 4:00 AM.
