The teenager who was shot and killed inside an Alabama home after he was found sleeping there and then got into a shootout with a resident has been identified.
Jefferson County Coroner’s Office officials said the dead teen was Charlie Angelo Jordan, 18, of Birmingham.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called early Wednesday morning to a reported burglary in progress at a residence in McCalla.
The person who called deputies said they came home and found someone hiding in their house.
As Jordan was leaving, another resident inside the house, a man who had been sleeping, confronted Jordan and the two exchanged gunfire.
Jordan died at the scene, while the other man was hospitalized with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Local media reported that Jordan may have been acquainted with someone who lived inside the home.
