An Alabama man led police on a chase into Georgia Thursday after allegedly firing a gun at a woman, police said.

Ider Police Department responded to a shots fired call on County Road 141 on Thursday.

When officers arrived on scene a vehicle exited the driveway at a high rate of speed and a police pursuit was initiated by Ider police officers.

Early information received, was that the suspect pulled a firearm on a female and fired multiple shots. So police said it was likely he was still armed.

The chase continued and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and Dade County Sheriff’s Office joined pursuit.

The pursuit crossed over into Georgia and into Trenton, Georgia.

Trenton City Police Department staged at Highway 136 in the area of Food Outlet and deployed spike strips, successfully striking the vehicle’s tires.

The suspects vehicle then became immobilized and turned into the Dollar General Store near the intersection of Pace Drive. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot toward Dade Middle School. He was ultimately taken into custody before reaching the school.

Dade Middle School was placed on a brief lockdown due to the proximity of the incident.

The suspect Justice Michael Reeves is facing Felony charges in the State of Georgia, and awaiting extradition back to the State Of Alabama to face felony charges with the Ider Police Department.
