Alabama Skies: More rain chances for some today. Will there be any drought-busters?

If you love the weather we’ve had recently, you’re in luck. We’re not expecting any widespread rainfall or thunderstorms Friday. That’s really bad news for the drought conditions across the state.

Some areas probably will have some rainfall today. Most showers will be brief, but we could see a couple heavy thunderstorms develop. We’re still not expecting enough rain to offset the extreme dry summer we’ve had.

North Alabama

Sunny with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. High of 82. Partly cloudy Friday night with a chance of an isolated shower. Low of 65.

Central Alabama

Partly sunny with a chance of a couple showers or storms. High of 84. Mostly cloudy overnight with a slight chance of a shower. Low of 67.

South Alabama

Partly sunny with a few showers and storms possible. High of 88. Mostly cloudy overnight with a shower or storm. Low of 66.

Gulf Coast

Mostly sunny with a chance of showers and storms in the afternoon. High of 89. Partly cloudy Friday night with a low of 71. A stray shower or storm is possible.
