Man killed in collision with 18-wheeler worked as a UAB police officer

An Alabama man who worked as a UAB police officer was killed Monday in a highway accident involving an 18-wheeler, authorities said.
Marvin Wade Hart, 61, was killed Monday just before noon in McCalla.
The accident involved Hart’s pickup truck and an 18-wheeler Publix truck.
The accident remains under investigation.
