Former Alabama football player arrested on sexual assault charge involving juvenile

A former University of Alabama football player has been indicted on a sexual assault charge involving a juvenile female.

Antonio Ross, 19, was indicted by a Calhoun County grand jury on the charge of second-degree sodomy.

Ross was arrested in Weaver on Monday. He was booked into the Calhoun County Jail and released on a $50,000 bond, according to Al.com. 

The arrest was originally investigated and reported by the Anniston Police Department.

Ross was a walk-on from Alexandria High School. Officials from the University of Alabama said that Ross is no longer part of the school’s athletic program and has been removed from campus.
