Two people were killed early Sunday morning after their cars collided head-on, Alabama investigators said.

The accident happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday on Springville Road in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Monday that the victims were Jayla Nicole Row, 28, of Birmingham, and Earian Rakim King, 30, of Fairfield.

Rowe’s Nissan Altima collided head-on with King’s Chevrolet Lumina.

Rowe was pronounced dead at the scene; King was extricated and taken to UAB Hospital, but was pronounced dead at approximately 2:10 a.m.

Birmingham police continue to investigate the accident.
