An Alabama man and a Florida woman were arrested after officers suspect the two were using an abandoned restaurant for drug activity.
Daniel Taylor, 52, of Atmore, and Tiffany Dale, 38, of Sebring, Florida, were arrested Sept. 4 on drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Taylor and Dale were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 12:40 p.m. on the day of arrest, an APD officer observed two people on the old Buster’s Restaurant property on Highway 31.
“The property is clearly marked with ‘No Trespassing’ signs located in several different locations and yellow tape had been placed in an effort to obstruct entry to the property,” Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said.
McMann said the officer contacted Taylor and Dale.
“The officer was given consent to search their property, and discovered multiple syringes with a crystal-like residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine along with spoons and other items that also had residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said. “Taylor also had active warrants with the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office and the Escambia County Sheriffs Office (Ala.).”
Dale and Taylor were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
