Law enforcement investigators have accused the daughter of a woman found dead last week at an Alabama motel of wrapping her mother’s body in a sheet and putting her in a wheel barrow.

The body of Shirley Smith, 69, was found on August 30, apparently having been stabbed multiple times, inside a room at a Foley motel.

Court documents indicate Smith was found in room no. 7 of the Town and Country Motel. The body was wrapped in a sheet and found in a wheelbarrow.

Smith’s daughter, Katie Smith, has been charged with abusing a corpse. She’s not charged with her mother’s death.

Local media reported that the mother and daughter lived at the hotel together.
