Alabama teen killed in crash was running from police, authorities say

An Alabama teen who was killed early Monday was reportedly running from police, state media reported.
Decatur police said an officer tried to stop a vehicle at approximately 2:40 a.m. Monday on Highway 67.
Officers said the drive did not stop and led police on a pursuit into Lawrence County when the driver eventually lost control and struck a tree.
The teen was identified as Jaiden DeJarnett, 16, of Harvest, Alabama. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was reportedly a student and football player at Sparkman High School.
