Teen killed in early morning collision with tree, Alabama troopers report

An Alabama teen was killed early Monday when his car left the road and struck a tree, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3 a.m. Monday, and claimed the life of a Harvest, Alabama, teen.

The 16-year-old was fatally injured when the 2016 Mazda 6 the youth was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, Alabama state troopers said.

The youth was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The youth was attempting to elude a Decatur Police Officer at the time of the crash, which occurred on Lawrence County 270, within the city limits of Courtland, in Lawrence County.
