Alabama man killed in two-vehicle crash, state troopers report

An Alabama man was killed Thursday when his SUV struck another vehicle, Alabama state troopers said.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. Thursday, and claimed the life of a Fort Payne, Alabama, man.
Andy D. McSpadden, 50, was fatally injured when the 2009 Nissan Rogue that he was driving struck the 2020 Mercedes GLC300 driven by John W. Harrison, 76, of Kingsport, Tennessee.
McSpadden was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Harrison was injured and transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital (UAB) for treatment.
The passenger of the Nissan, Heath D. Mcelrath Jr., 21, of Fort Payne, was injured and transported to Erlanger Hospital, in Chattanooga, Tenn., for treatment.
The passenger of the Mercedes, Geraldine Harrison, 80, of Kingsport, was also injured and transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 11 near Walker Lane, approximately 4 miles north of Reece City, in Etowah County.
