Alabama man killed when ATV strikes culvert and flips, state police say

An Alabama man was killed early Friday when the SUV he was operating struck a culvert and flipped over, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash that involved an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. Friday, claimed the life of a Trinity, Alabama, man.

Kevin D. Coffey, 48, was injured when the 2019 Polaris Razor ATV that he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.

Coffey was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was transported to Lawrence Medical Center Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Lawrence County 370 near Lawrence County 371, approximately 5 miles south of Trinity, in Lawrence County.
