It took six minutes for a man to break into an Alabama sunglass store, steal more than $20,000 in sunglasses and leave before police arrived on the scene.

FOX 10 New in Mobile reports that Shades Sunglasses off Dauphin Street was broken into Tuesday night.

Surveillance video shows the burglar using a crowbar to pry open the front door of the store. The suspect then proceeded to go on a sunglass shopping spree, emptying many of the store’s cases filled with name-brand, high-end sunglasses.

The store manager, who received an alert on her phone about the break-in, was unable to get to the store before the burglar escaped with the merchandise.

Approximately $24,000 in sunglasses were stolen, the manager said. More than $20,000 in damages will have to be repaired or replaced, the manager said.

The case is under investigation by the Mobile Police Department.
