Two Alabama women were killed Sunday morning and four others — including two young children — were injured in a head-on collision, state troopers reported.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Sunday, and claimed the lives of two women from Union Springs.

Ayana M. Martin, 23, was fatally injured when the 2000 Honda Accord she was driving collided head-on with the 2015 Lexus RX350 driven by Marshall R. McCollough, 20, of New Brockton.

Martin and a passenger in the Accord, Tyquasha Mason, 24, also of Union Springs, were both not using seat belts at the time of the crash, were fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 1-year-old and 3-year-old, who were also passengers in the Accord, were injured and taken to local area hospitals for medical treatment.

McCollough was also injured during the crash and was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center in Pike County for treatment.

An 18-year-old passenger in the Lexus was injured and was also transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 29 near the 129 mile marker, approximately 12 miles south of Union Springs, in Bullock County.
