Man fleeing deputies killed when motorcycle hits mailboxes, then parked car

An Alabama man was killed Monday night while reportedly fleeing from law enforcement officers when his motorcycle struck two mailboxes, then a parked sheriff deputies patrol vehicle, state troopers reported.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of an Evergreen man.

While attempting to elude law enforcement Joseph Raphael Novelli, 35, was fatally injured when the 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle he was operating left the roadway, struck two mailboxes, and then struck a parked Conecuh County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle.

The crash occurred on U.S. 31, approximately 3 miles south of McKenzie, in Butler County.
