An Alabama man has been arrested after police say he struck an elderly relative with a shovel, then trying to run over over with a lawn mower.

The incident happened Monday when a resident on Tapscott Road in Morgan County used a home alarm system to call 911.

When Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they found a woman who had visible marks on her, grass stains on her clothes and leaves in her hair.

After investigation the matter, deputies located and arrested Phillip Glenn Brennan, 29, of Hartselle, and charged him with:

▪️13A-6-193 – Elder Abuse and Neglect 2nd Degree
▪️13A-6-132 – Domestic Violence 3rd Degree

Brennan was arrested and taken tot the Morgan County Jail and was being held on a $20,300 bond.
