An Alabama state inmate died Monday, the county coroner’s office reported.

Lashun Cortez White, 32, who was serving a 21-year sentence for robbery, was found unresponsive in his cell Monday night at the William Donaldson Correctional Facility.

He was taken to the prison’s infirmary where he was pronounced dead, officials with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.

The cause of his death is being investigating and an autopsy is planned.
