An Alabama man was apparently struck by lightning and killed Monday afternoon in a parking lot of a manufacturing facility, police said.

Florence police, fire and EMS were called for a medical call in the parking lot of Darby Doors on Kendall Drive in the Florence Industrial Park.

A worker in the parking lot was apparently struck by lightning as severe weather passed through the area.

The 28-year-old Florence man was killed by the strike. Police did not immediately identify him as they were still trying to notify his family.
