An Alabama 16-year-old was killed Saturday night the teen’s car ran off the road and struck a tree stump, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Hazel Green teen.

The 16-year-old was fatally injured when the 2012 Ford Fusion the youth was driving left the roadway and struck a tree stump.

The youth was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Elkwood Section Road near Mason Road, approximately 2 miles north of Hazel Green, in Madison County.
