The former Alabama pageant queen accused of plotting to kill her husband will remain locked up in a Bahamian jail after a local judge denied her bond request Monday.

Lindsey Shirley Shiver, 36, who competed in Alabama beauty pageants and was named Miss Houston County in 2005, is accused of plotting with her alleged lover and another man to kill her husband after he filed for divorce from her.

Shiver and Terrance Bethel, 28, her alleged lover, and Faron Newbold, 29, were arrested in the Bahamas after investigators working on a burglary case said they stumbled on messages from the trio plotting to kill Robert Shiver of Thomasville, Georgia.

The Shivers own a second home in the Bahamas.

The Bahama Court News reported that the suspects face between 30 and 60 years in prison if convicted of the charges they currently face.

Court documents indicated the Shivers filed for divorce a few months ago, each filing counter claims against their spouse.

Robert Shiver played on the Auburn University football team, graduating in 2008, before a brief professional football career with the Atlanta Falcons.
