An Alabama teenage boy was hospitalized Thursday morning after he was apparently shot in the stomach accidentally.

Huntsville police told local media that they were investigating the shooting of a teenage boy who was shot in the stomach at approximately 8:15 a.m. at a residence on Hammonds Avenue in Huntsville.

WHNT-TV reported that the boy was reportedly 15 years old and may have been shot accidentally.

His last known condition was listed as serious at Huntsville Hospital.
