Alabama woman killed when SUV strikes bridge rail, flips into creek, state troopers report

An Alabama woman was killed Tuesday when her SUV struck a concrete bridge rail and flipped over into a creek, state troopers said.
Tje single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:01 a.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of an Alabaster woman.
Althea L. Tait, 47, was fatally injured when the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas she was driving left the roadway, struck a concrete bridge rail and overturned in a creek.
Tait was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near the 181 mile marker, less than 1 mile south of Attalla, in Etowah County.
