An Alabama man was killed early Sunday when his SUV rolled over several times and ended up in ditch, law enforcement officials said.

The accident happened at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday when Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 8600 block of Rouse Road near Warrior to investigate reports of a vehicle on its side in a ditch.

Upon arrival, deputies found a white SUV that had rolled multiple times and came to rest in a ditch. A 33-year-old male was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will confirm the identity of the victim.
