Friday will be the hottest day of the summer so far for many of us, but it will also bring the chance for severe storms.

A Level 2 risk covers northern and most of central Alabama. A Level 1 risk covers the rest of central and southern Alabama. Both areas have the chance for severe storms, strong winds, hail, and heavy rainfall.

There’s another chance for severe storms Saturday for central and southern Alabama. After that, we should have some much better weather. We’ll have sunny skies and temperatures several degrees cooler. Parts of northern Alabama will be sunny with highs only in the 80s in a few days! Certainly not cool, but a much-appreciated break!
