An Alabama man was killed Tuesday when his pickup truck ran off the road and struck a tree, state troopers reported.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Montgomery man.

Jefferson J. Houston, 34, was fatally injured when the 2017 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.

Houston was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Interstate 85 near the 29 mile marker, approximately 10 miles west of Tuskegee, in Macon County.
