Shot Alabama firefighters critical and serious at hospital; $10,000 reward offered

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the person who shot two Alabama firefighters inside their fire station Wednesday morning.
The firefighters, identified as Jordan Melton and Jamal Jones were shot inside Birmingham Fire and Rescue’s Station 9 in the Norwood area of Birmingham.
Birmingham Fire officials released a statement about the incident:
“Today, two Birmingham firefighters were shot at Fire Station 9. Firefighter Melton is in critical condition. Firefighter Jones is in serious condition. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service sends our thoughts and prayers to these two injured firefighters, their families, and the entire BFRS family.”
The shooting occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. when an unknown shooter walked into an open fire station bay door and started shooting.
The two injured firefighter were taken to UAB Hospital.
Police said they’re trying to determine the identity of the suspect.
Police said they believe the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack.
