The Alabama 9-month-old girl who was initially reported as being kidnapped Monday was found safe in a kudzu-covered ravine across from where she disappeared.

The baby was found inside her father’s SUV that had been reported stolen.

Police now believe that the car may have not been placed in park and rolled down the driveway and into the kudzu-covered area approximately 100 yards away. Meaning it may not have been stolen after all.

Police said Harlow Darby Freeman was found a little before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning who by the light of the day were able to spot the car that was difficult to see Monday night.

The baby was taken to Children’s of Alabama as a precaution, but reportedly appeared to be in good condition.

The state issued the Amber Alert for Harlow Monday night after her father left the baby in the car for a few minutes while he ran into a friend’s house. When he walked back outside, the car was gone with the baby inside.
